Edit: I’ve moved!!! In August 2020 I moved to Cambridge, MA to start business school. Honestly, I feel like I have barely scratched the surface of Boston because most things were closed bc of COVID.
I’ve only ever been to Boston in the summer time… so it always feels alright But I love Boston! What a college town. The architecture is amazing, transportation is easy, and to top it off my sister lives there! I’ve gone twice, and each time was in the spring/summer time.
ITINERARY
May 2016 - 5 days @ Hilton (to see my sister graduate!!!!)
May 2017 - 4 days @ El Meridien (for GBTA convention)
August 2020 - Moved!!!! Currently living in Cambridge attending bschool at MIT Sloan
HIGHLIGHTS
Boston holds such a special place for the Yu Family. Seeing my older sister graduate with a Masters from the #1 hospital in America, General Mass Hospital and having my mom take me to her old work place when she used to work in Boston. (Edit: WOW! This does have such a special place for my family, it’s also where I went to grad school as well)
Catching a Red Sox game at Fenway Park (my favorite baseball stadium I’ve been to) with Hue, Daniel Wen, and Chris Yang. Awesome mix of renovated stadium with traditional backbone.
Seeing Bernie as she finished up her senior year at Harvard.
Walking through Boston Commons with my mom in springtime to catch the flowers bloom.
Eating some really good food.
Maria’s Pastry Shop for cannoli
Neptune Oyster for lobster rolls
Eatly at The Pru -- Shop around at different Italian restaurants before you sit down! There’s a bunch to choose from.
Eating my way through Quincy Market.
Visiting HBS & Sloan. Sometimes you just gotta dream big.
lowlights
Waiting 4 hours to hear my sister’s name graduated. When you’re a Yu, you get used to it… (pun not intended).
Food here kind of sucks. I feel like I haven’t found any really “I’m craving you food” here.
